Humanities Washington (HW) seeks an experienced part-time Database Administrator to provide important organizational support and oversight of HW’s Salesforce database. Specific responsibilities include:
• Managing the integrity of the Salesforce database including routine deduplication.
• Acting as organization’s Salesforce “super user” and keeping abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality, and providing recommendations for process improvements.
• Updating and maintaining user records, profiles, permissions, and security.
• Creating objects, fields, validation rules, page layouts, workflow processes, and more to address and improve new and existing business needs.
• Researching, installing, configuring, and maintaining third-party tools for uses such as email marketing, form capture, donation processing, and more.
• Designing, creating, updating, and generating customized database reports across the organization.
• Providing database technical support to staff, and logging and tracking identified system problems through resolution.
• Training staff in database functionality and general report creation and generation.
• Creating and maintaining documentation on Salesforce processes, policies, application configuration, and help-related materials.
Additionally, in partnership with the Associate Director, this position will have the opportunity to oversee the organization’s full IT infrastructure, including:
• Acting as the first IT point-of-contact for staff.
• Managing the relationship with the external IT services/support provider, 501 Commons.
• Collaborating with 501 Commons on organizational IT strategy and planning.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to perform effectively.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Salesforce best practices and functionality in relation to user permissions, validation rules, workflow rules, page layouts, custom objects, custom fields, reports, and dashboards.
• Certification as a Salesforce Administrator through Salesforce.com (ADM 201 and ADM 211) preferred.
• Experience with installation and configuration of applications from the AppExchange (FormAssembly and iATS payment processor preferred).
• Familiarity with data cleansing and data management tools such as Apsona, DemandTools, and/or Data Loader.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Strong attention to detail, as well as solid problem solving and analytical skills.
• Web experience is desirable.
• Solid verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Aptitude and interest in technology trends and developments.
• Familiarity with the non-profit sector.
• Self-directed, with the ability to effectively work with minimal supervision.
