Position #: 2019-1548 Title: Software Engineer/Intermediate Software Engineer Department: Data Management & Software Development Status: Full-time, days Overview We are looking for a talented individual to join our team to develop web applications in support of research activities at the Benaroya Research Institute. Responsibilities The primary applications are focused on data management and data visualization. We have a strong interest in facilitating sharing data between researchers in order to answer specific scientific questions. Qualifications Applicants should have at least 1 years of programming experience, the ability to learn new concepts and toolkits quickly, and experience with the following technologies: - Object Oriented Programming: Java, C++, Groovy/Grails - Relational and NoSQL database systems (MySQL, mongoDB) - JavaScript (jQuery, bootstrap, React) Additionally experience with any of the following would be beneficial: - React Native mobile development - R Statistical Analysis - Python A B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. Must be a self-starter, comfortable in an agile environment, and someone who is capable of taking the seed of an idea and implementing a solution. Must be able to work independently while still being an integral part of a larger team.
