Senior Network Technician Pay Range: $23.55 to $27.13 PLUS OVERTIME
The Senior Network Technician is responsible for providing technical support for all systems within UniSea’s Dutch Harbor operation, including working directly with end users to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and providing technical support. The Senior Network Technician is also responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the software and hardware that is associated with the UniSea Dutch Harbor network.
•Provide prompt, courteous, effective and thorough customer service and follow up to ensure satisfaction and that a solution for the issue was reached.
•Evaluation and analysis of hardware/software problems within the computer information system and determine the best possible solution.
•Responsible for the setup, configuration, deployment and support for all end user desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, phones, printers and other enterprise software; including PBX administration.
•Monitor and organize the network hardware/software to ensure that it meets the needs of the end user.
•Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, and latency) and test for network weaknesses while maintaining network security and connectivity.
•Participate in On-Call rotation to support 24/7 Dutch Harbor production during the processing season.
•Monitor existing software and perform software revisions as required. Maintain system hardware and software to meet industry standards.
•Responsible for maintaining all communication systems throughout the Dutch Harbor facilities; which includes all computer equipment, network equipment, and telephone equipment.
•Responsible for properly racking and cabling devices in the Dutch Harbor network.
•Support and administer third-party applications, vendor communication is required.
•Associates Degree in Computer Information Services or similar field, or equivalent work experience is required.
•Three to Five years of experience in IT with emphasis on network administration and end user support.
•Previous supervisory experience is preferred; this position does oversee an IT technician.
